WIPP air emissions

The EEG has done work on air emissions at WIPP. The closest community downwind from WIPP is Artesia, NM. They already have very poor air quality because of the refinery right on 285. WIPP will compound the problems in Artesia. The EEG has criticized DoE/Westinghouse for designing a stack that allows greater concentrations of radioactivity to be released in the area around the site, than a taller stack that allows for more dillution. I suppose that they were advocating dilution as the solution to pollution. Anyway check out EEG. They should be able to answer your questions.
